Vividion Therapeutics

Bringing chemoproteomics to the clinic

Background:

Vividion Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biotech company with a first-in-class chemoproteomics platform. The team uses this technology to identify novel pockets on previously undruggable targets and molecules that bind to those pockets in order to activate or inhibit protein activity in oncology and immunology. The company launched officially in 2017, was acquired by Bayer in 2021 and currently functions as a wholly-owned, independently-operated subsidiary of Bayer.

Transitioning to a clinical-stage company

Vividion came to Ten Bridge Communications looking for a refreshed brand and new website to embody the company culture and innovation of the current moment. Before our working together, the website reflected more of an early-stage biotech, with minimal detail about the scientific platform, company programs or team.

Today, Vividion has three programs in Phase 1 clinical trials, making it among the more advanced chemoproteomics companies in the space. It was critical that we captured both their expansive research capabilities and innovation engine as well as how they are translating these discoveries into a productive clinical pipeline and developing novel therapeutics. Vividion isn’t simply identifying theoretical candidates to be drugged, they are developing compounds that have the potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients.

The team has also grown substantially since its founding, and Vividion expressed a desire to see more authentic imagery of their colleagues on the site, rather than stock imagery.

Uncommon bonds

To usher in this new phase of the company, we revamped the brand, including the creation of a new logo. We re-envisioned the Vividion ‘+’ sign as a nod to the team’s covalent-first approach and the unbreakable connections that underly all of their work and shifted the color palette to provide a lighter and cleaner feel to the overall aesthetic.

One of our first tasks in distinguishing the company was highlighting Vividion’s leadership in chemoproteomics. The team combines a proprietary library of over 50,000 covalent small molecules with high-throughput mass spectrometry and an integrated data portal to evaluate how these molecules interact with the entire human proteome in an unbiased manner. To bring this to life, we created a 3D animation and 2D scientific graphics that highlight what makes Vividion unique from more traditional small molecule discovery, and how their approach yields a broader therapeutic opportunity.

Additionally, we revamped the Vividion pipeline page, making it interactive and including important details about several of the company’s programs. Each program description includes detail about the chosen target, the small molecule in development and information on the program’s progress, with clinical trial information accessible where appropriate.

Vividion’s scientific leadership is as much about the team as it is about the platform. To highlight the team, we art directed a photoshoot and incorporated photos of Vividion team members on nearly every page of the site. On the careers and culture page, we incorporated a photo carousel that highlights the team’s recent events and get togethers. We also launched an internal newsletter to provide another internal touchpoint for the team to stay connected outside of their day-to-day work.

Coordinated roll out

With the new brand and website representing the company’s more advanced stages, we oversaw a company-wide brand roll out that educated the wider Vividion team about the evolution.

To do this, we compiled a brand package on the company intranet, with a comprehensive brand guide that highlighted the rationale and application of the new brand. Within that brand package, we developed a new PowerPoint template, business cards, social media templates, letterheads and graphics for use in their office spaces. We also advised on an internal communication to the team around the brand rollout so that the Vividion team was familiar with the rationale behind the design choices in the brand and new website.

Now with the new site launched, the company is well positioned for progress as it advances its programs through the clinic along with other company milestones. The new website is rich in information about the company and its programs, while still being simple to navigate and easy to understand.
